A newbuild house on an amazing site with a lovely south facing garden. The existing house was a poor quality 1970s bungalow that had such high window cills you couldn’t see out from the first floor. Having done designs for numerous extensions to the original dwelling the clients came to the decision that they just were not able to achieve what they wanted and took the plunge to do a new build Passive House. In order to limit costs and carbon footprint we retained and reused the original foundations, extending to the east to create a large kitchen and built a new timber frame off these. The client has taken this on as a self-build project and it is still currently onsite.
